Bombardier is sponsoring the YouCity Innovation Competition, seeking design concepts for 'the future of urban mobility'. The online competition, open to design students and professionals, focuses on the evolution of mobility in fast-growing urban areas. With more than two thirds of the world's population expected to live in cities by 2050, the issue of transportation is one that the organizers feel needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.
Bombardier has selected three cities that represent the different markets for urban mobility around the world: London, UK (mature market), Belo Horizonte, Brazil (BRIC market) and Vientiane, Laos (emerging market).

The lowdown
Dodge plans to ambush the repmobile market with the production version of this Avenger concept. To be revealed at next week's Paris motor show and due in showrooms in July 2007, the Avenger will be spun off the new Chrysler Sebring's front-wheel drive platform. Power comes from four and six-cylinder engines.
Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Special Edition
Land Rover has revealed a luxury special edition discovery at the New York Auto Show – the Discovery 4 HSE Luxury – the highest spec Disco ever. It’s not hard to work out that Land Rover are in the process of replacing their current range of Discovery, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport with new models. We had the Range Rover Westminster back in February and today at the New York Motor Show we get the Disco run-out model with the reveal of the Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Special Edition.
